GK STREET ART GALLERY · 2022
Oranienburger Straße 3, 6, 9 & 12 · Berlin-Reinickendorf
In July 2022, Gita Kurdpoor transformed four residential building façades in Berlin-Reinickendorf into the GK Street Art Gallery, creating a large-scale artistic dialogue across the neighbourhood.
Completed over four consecutive weeks, the project explores self-awareness, perception and the relationship between our inner world and the environment around us.
Each mural presents an individual visual expression, while together they form a connected body of work that invites residents and passersby to discover new perspectives through art.
Through recurring forms, colours and patterns, the mural reflects the connection between our senses and the way we experience ourselves and the world around us. It invites viewers to become more aware of their own perception and inner balance.
Through expressive forms and vibrant colours, the mural reflects the courage to trust our instincts, embrace uncertainty and follow our own direction. It invites viewers to recognise their inner strengths and discover the possibilities that emerge through self-confidence and awareness.
The Focus explores the importance of self-awareness and the ability to find our own centre amid the influences of the outside world.
Through its composition of flowing forms and vibrant colours, the mural invites viewers to turn their attention inward, recognise their strengths and reconnect with their own perception. It reflects the idea that clarity and inner balance begin with conscious awareness of ourselves.
The Transition explores personal transformation and the courage to move beyond familiar boundaries.
As the fourth and final mural of the GK Street Art Gallery, it reflects the journey from self-discovery to self-confidence. Through expressive colours and flowing forms, the artwork invites viewers to embrace change, trust their own potential and discover new possibilities beyond the expectations of others.
